Maryland signs the Thomas Bloom Raskin Act

The Maryland Legislature passed the Thomas Bloom Raskin Act, effective July 1. The Act requires the state to offer opt-in mental health services calls and periodic check-ins and authorizes the Maryland Governor to allocate a budget for implementing these services. Tommy was known for frequently checking in with his friends. He would have embraced this law as an example of people helping people and the importance of incorporating compassion in policy.
